Using OpenBB Native Integrations
One of the biggest value propositions of Terminal Pro is the capability to bring your own data into the app, giving you the flexibility to integrate your data directly into a platform that provides powerful tools and features for data visualization and analysis.
This capability allows for a seamless experience when analyzing and visualizing your proprietary datasets.
We believe that when the right financial data meets a powerful tool like Terminal Pro, the possibilities are endless.
A Closer Look at Our Integration with Snowflake
From the very beginning, we understood that data is everything in the investment research industry. To stay competitive, we need to offer more than just advanced technology. We need to provide easy access to high-quality datasets.
We recognized early on that building and maintaining connections with Snowflake could be complex and resource-intensive for many companies. Therefore, we have streamlined this process, making it incredibly easy to connect and analyze your Snowflake data within Terminal Pro.
This combination of OpenBB technology and extensive data resources provides a powerful tool for analysts and quants.
By using the OpenBB Data Connector, data from Snowflake flows securely into your machine, providing you with reliable analytical tools.
After setting up the connection, you can easily add Snowflake datasets to your dashboard.
You can select the data catalog from over 670 different data providers (Snowflake), but you can also create widgets on Terminal Pro that leverage the exact data you are interested in through SQL. This data can then be rendered into a dashboard accessible to you and other members of your firm.
If you’re interested in more native integrations on Terminal Pro, stay tuned! We’re working hard to announce more in the upcoming months.
What value does OpenBB Terminal Pro offer?
1. Customizing your analysis
Customization is a key feature of our platform. Whether you prefer tables, charts, pie charts, or bar charts, you have the flexibility to design your dashboards to meet your specific needs.
2. Creating and sharing dashboards
With Terminal Pro, creating and sharing dashboards is a breeze.
For instance, you can copy-paste SQL queries from the "Usage Examples" provided by Cybersyn on their Snowflake listing page and create visualizations such as line charts for the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index. Check out our CEO's post on X to see how it works.
These widgets can then be saved on dashboards and accessed by anyone within your organization, allowing for collaborative analysis and quick insight extraction.
3. Using AI to improve your analysis
Now imagine that on top of all this data, you could use AI to help you extract accurate insights much faster. That’s what OpenBB Copilot can do for you.
It can answer financial questions about risk management, corporate finance, financial modeling, financial metrics, behavioral finance, etc.
Help you summarize long articles or reports.
Do sentiment analysis.

4. Financial Forecasting
We’ve recently introduced forecasting on Terminal Pro with Nixtla’s TimeGPT.
To get started,
Create a line chart from any data on a table.
Click the Nixtla button in the top right of the graph.
Set your forecasting parameters and you are ready to go.
This feature enables analysts and quants to integrate proprietary datasets and generate forecasts with just a few clicks. The seamless integration of TimeGEN-1 allows users to leverage state-of-the-art forecasting models directly from the OpenBB Terminal Pro interface, democratizing access to advanced forecasting technology that was previously hardly accessible to many financial firms.
This integration addresses the challenge of building and generalizing forecasting models for different time series, making it easier and faster for you to obtain accurate forecasts and make better investment decisions.
